Virtual Choir

Here’s “Great is Thy Faithfulness”, sung by a virtual choir that I organized for the 2020 Annual Gathering of the Northern California / Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ. This was a complex project that had verses in English, Japanese, Cantonese, and Tagalog.

When my friend Cynthia was dying, she requested that William Byrd’s Mass for Five Voices be sung at her memorial service. Here’s a video that I created for her.

Songwriting

“Mother of Peace” is a song that I wrote in honor of my colleague Sharon Li Mei Shem MacArthur. Here’s a recording of the piece sung at the Northern California / Nevada Conference’s Pacific Islander and Asian American Ministries’ Music Festival in 2023.

PAAM Collaboration

Here’s “Together We Are One”, sung by a virtual choir that I led for the Pacific Islander and Asian American Ministries of the United Church Christ. This performance was created to support the April 15, 2021 edition of the UCC’s Thursdays for the Soul. This program was led by PAAM in response to the harassment and violence towards the Asian American/Pacific Islander communities in Atlanta and elsewhere.

Advent Reflections

In 2022, my colleague Jean Jeffress invited me to do a series of Advent reflections with her at Foothills Congregational Church in Los Altos. Jean would do a reading, then I would respond with an improvised musical solo. Here’s our reflection for the fourth week of Advent.
